Capitals forward Fedorov signs 2-year deal with Russia’s Metallurg

Three-time Stanley Cup champion Sergei Fedorov will play in
The 39-year-old is about to ink a two-year deal worth $3.8 million per season with the Kontinental Hockey League’s Metallurg Magnitogorsk, where he’ll join his brother, Fedor.
Fedorov, the first Russian to reach 1,000 career NHL points, had 11 goals and 22 assists in 52 regular season games with the Washington Capitals last season.
He added a goal and seven points in 14 playoff games before
Over 18 NHL seasons, Fedorov scored 483 goals and added 696 assists for a career total of 1,179 points.
He won three Stanley Cups with the Detroit Red Wings in 1997, 1998 and 2002.
In 1993-94 he was recognized as league MVP with the Hart Trophy. He also won the Frank J. Selke and Lester B. Pearson trophies that year and was again awarded the Selke in 1995-96.
