Hapless robber gets stuck in shop window

An unlucky robber who broke into a shop was arrested after the police found him stuck in one of the shop’s windows. The man is deeply thankful to the police for saving his life.

At 3:00 a.m. local time, police in the city of Belovo in Siberia received an alarm call from a local household electronics store, the Regions.ru website reported Tuesday.

When they arrived at the scene, they saw a man stuck in a half-open window of the shop, and carpenter tools lying on the ground below. The frame was holding the robber so tightly that he could hardly breathe.

The man was freed from the trap and handcuffed. After thanking the police officers for rescuing him, he admitted that he had been trying to rob the shop.

He said he had used a jack to lift the metal shutters on the window, but when he was trying to break the glass with a hammer, the heavy shutters slid down and trapped him. Then the shop’s automatic alarm went off, and the police arrived for him.
