15 Jun, 01:04 PM

Two men have been bitten by a venomous cobra at the bus station in Moscow, Russian website Life.ru reports. Police have begun a search for the owner of the snake, but it has so far yielded no results.

Two Muscovites, who have not been named, were waiting for a bus at the station at about 21.00 Moscow time in the Orekhovo-Borisovo region of Moscow on Sunday, when a venomous snake unexpectedly attacked them. Fortunately, a passerby heard the calls of help and sent his wife for a doctor. After that, he caught the cobra with his bare hands and took it to the police.

“Firstly, I was going to take it to the Moscow zoo. I called there, but it was a nighttime, and nobody answered me. Then I decided to take the snake to the police,” he said.

According to the report, the two victims of the snake are in the hospital now, where the doctors say that their conditions are serious but stable.

The fate of the cobra will be decided by Moscow veterinarians.

The investigators are puzzled by how the cobra appeared on the Moscow streets.
