Newborn Russian liger named after Michael Jackson

A cub born to a tiger and a lioness at a Russian zoo has been named Michael Jackson to honor the memory of king of pop, who died this week at the age of 50.
The liger was born to a lioness called Anna and a tiger called Raj at the Volgograd Zoo, in central
The two-weeks old cub is perfectly healthy and playful, although he had to be switched to goat milk after it became clear his mother did not have enough to feed him.
The cub has been named Michael Jackson.
“Why not?” says the director of the zoo, Gamlet Kasyan.
“I love listening to Michael Jackson, I have all of his albums at home, and I wanted to honor his memory.”
